Hey NussBuster & FantasyBattlefield,
Would like to congratulate you again on a convincing CG round win, you utterly outclassed us at every turn leaving us powerless to break your defences. It was embarrassing for us, but at the same time a massive learning experience.
As i briefly discussed with Nuss after the match, i think we could really benefit from playing more matches against a well organised team and suggested we could perhaps establish a weekly friendly 8 v 8 match with your clan. He indicated that you guys are wanting to scrim more also, so this could work.
If you guys discuss it and let me know if your keen and we can set it up. If you decide yes then our 2 available time slots each week are tuesday and wednesday nights at 8:00pm AEST. Hopefully one of those suits you also.
Will await your response,
Ow_Damnit

Hi Ow_Damnit
Usually we are free to do friendly scrims however I think a lot of us are busy with uni and other commitments at the moment. It will likely be like this for the next month due to exams approaching. When the next 4 weeks are over then we'll be open for prac scrims :)
Just a heads up that I reckon we might be short on players until then. We might have 8 FanT players playing on Wednesday or Tuesday night so I don't know.
All the best

It seems you guys left a dominant impression on Liquidatorz... yet we are only social clan...

Speak for yourself pjano lol... you're not even on our 8v8 ladder roster.
Ow_Damnit,
There are a number of us that are quite keen to have regular friendly matches for practice, we'll work out what days best amongst ourselves and let you know.
Thanks

No drama, see what you come up with. Of course i realise not every week would be possible, if one or both teams couldn't produce numbers on the day it would be void until the following.

pjano asked me if he could say that.
I told him to ask Nuss to see if that's what he wants him to say.

Comes in handy to get reserves in and upto scratch on strats and what not.

Yer, we need as much prac as we can, with all the reserves. We don't want to have reserves needed for an important match turn up not knowing the strats or the 'feel' of 8v8, cause its very different to 16v16.
Plus - I just wanna play as much 8v8 as possible and we gotta get good at all maps, not just Caspian/Seine//Bazaar.

I'm happy with Tuesdays @ 8pm, Wednesday is one of the days we've set aside as a CG challenge day. We should be free most Tuesdays but as I mentioned on Battlelog the next couple we might not be free if we have a GameArena 16s match. I'll let you know when I find out.
Looking forward to it Damnit :)
Good call too Ink, it'll probably be the first 8 to state availability or whoever happens to be in TS at the time will get a run.

Roger that Nuss, Tuesdays are perfect. You have me on Battlelog so each week we can either say yay or nay if we are good to go. Each team can take turns in choosing a map for the week and i think it would be really great if we could do a debrief after each scrim and point out our observations on what each other did well and what they could have done better.
Be gentle with us, we are fragile :P

16th May 2012, 01:16 PM
Well done again last night guys. Don't really think a debrief is necessary as 50% of our players were not a part of our ordinary scrim team and had not ever participated in a scrim. Hopefully next week (supposing you are free) we can get our A team online. Also if we could choose the following weeks map straight after the current weeks scrim it will give both sides a week to prepare, next week i was hoping we could do Caspian Border?

Yeah you guys were down a few players at times as well. I think we should be keen for caspian, we have a match this thursday on caspian.
How are your guys in the heli/jets? Would be good to have some aerial competition haha.

Sorry, could we actually do Siene again? we just locked in a ladder match on Siene for next wednesday so another practice run vs you guys will do us a world of good. We could then do caspian the following week.
Personally i am about 1000 times better in a chopper then i am as infantry, don't know that we have any stand out jet pilots however.

Shame battlelog was down last night. Would you guys like to pick a map for next week, tuesday the 29th?

Hey Damnit, we'd be after either Damavand or Bazaar - whichever you guys would prefer out of the two.
Cheers :)

Good game last night, i really enjoyed it. Sorry we were a man down, we had more then enough online but all in the middle of patching.
Astro mentioned we made inefficient use of our vehicles, just wondering if anyone could elaborate a little? I know a couple of times he pointed out our vehicles had spawned and no one was in them but as the chopper pilot i don't believe our chopper was ever unoccupied for too long. Your chopper was possibly unattended a little long also as we managed to steal it on several occasions .. keeping it on the other hand was a completely different story. Anyway, we are quite open to criticism so let us have it!
Grand Bazaar next week?

oh thats right, you wanted me to do a write up :P ok
So from playing on your side I was able to pick up few things that could be areas to improve on. Although I was kinda just pubbing it not paying much attention and wasn't on your comms so I couldn't work out what your strategies were or how they changed as the game progressed. But that aside this is what I noticed (some of these points are relevant for both teams):
Not making the most of vehicles:
Many times when looking at the minimap or going to spawn the heli and tank were just sitting at spawn, making the most of your vehicles should be the primary focus. Learn the spawn times. There was one point we had no flags yet everyone seemed to be pushing on foot to cap the nearest flag, the heli was free there for quite a while.
So, individual vehicle tatics:
Scout heli: FLANKING and mobile spawn!!!! If you've got no flags get in the heli and get over that hill as fast as you can and back cap. Enemy then has to backpeddle making it easier to cap your nearest point
Tank: Holds flags. I think the best use of the tank for this map is to cap and hold the tunnel with it
humvee/vodnik: YES they are bloody usefull! No one was using it, honestly they were lying around everywhere. Use it as a shielded gun when capping or in a defensive postion
Now I know a lot of that is pretty basic stuff but I definitely seen room for improvement there
A final note is that there was a heap of back and forth, no team really seemed to be able to lock the map down to get the ticket bleed. Ideally you should be able to lockdown the tunnels and hold the middle flag with the tank+humvee and stop anything getting over the hill for a backcap with the littlebird.

Yep, we would be happy with Bazaar; I'll finally be able to jump in for a game with my uni semester finished :D
Regarding the vehicles, it's something I noticed in our first scrim (after the ladder match) on Seine. At one point when FanT was playing as RU, your tank was left unmanned in deployment long enough for me to put 4 tank shots into it. It's too much of an asset to be left for that long, if the driver and gunner/repairer are out helping an infantry squad that's fine (ideal even), but one of them needs to be prepared to suicide or leg it back to spawn if they're close enough. The ticket you lose from the suicide is nothing compared to the number of tickets you can save by distracting the enemy for long enough to get a second flag to remove the ticket bleed (if that's the situation at the time). From memory the tank spawn is either 60 or 90 seconds on Seine.
Didn't mention it at the time because I wasn't sure if it was just a one off (miscommunication or otherwise), couldn't really tell if it was a problem on Bazaar.
It's clearly something I need to start drilling my team on too :p

That was the strangest match i've ever played.
I think we need to do some more work on Damavand too. We had trouble holding our spawn point and B... i know most people were too excited about using all the new guns n shit, but some prac is still needed.
Can we do Bazaar and then Damavand next week?
Ow_Damnit
6th June 2012, 03:35 PM
Thanks for all the feedback. I honestly didn't think our chopper was ever unattended for too long, when i was on the ground helping i had mini map zoomed right out so i could see when it spawned, at which point i would just suicide run. Maybe i missed it a few times who knows.
We can do 2 rounds of each Bazaar & Damavand next week if your keen to play that long i know our guys will be. Failing that we can just do Damavand again next week and Bazaar the following week, i am easy.

Cheers again for all the practice, we had our CG match on Damavand Peak last night against SiN, we took them down by 33 in round 1 and 164 in round 2. 197 ticket win overall. Couldn't have done it without you guys :)
See you on Tuesday.
